Vintage Doorknob Twine Holder

At the Remnants of the Past Show I saw one of Sue Whitney's clever uses for vintage doorknobs.  She had made little bud vases!  When I got home I pulled out my collection of rusty old doorknobs, waxed then, and made a bunch of vases but a couple of mine had broken screws so the pin wouldn't come out or the knob had been dented on the front.  I had to come up with a new idea and coat hooks have been done.  I grabbed a door plate and just screwed the knob to the plate from the backside using a washer then screwed four of those wood balls that are flat on one side from the top screw holes in the doorplate.  This way, you can feed the twine through the keyhole to keep it under control.  It works well for ribbon spools, too.
