Here it is...just what I needed..........and it was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!
And drawers too... to decide how to fill it!  No problemo!!!!
I found this perfectly vintage pink divided box at an antique mall a month or two ago (just because I liked it - and didnt know where I was going to put it - sometimes these things take time, right??)  Look - it fits JUST RIGHT!
I didnt have too much trouble filling it/setting it up...  I just made a huge mess re-doing my work area.
Drawers filled - paper for collage, etc... and miscellaneous other junk in metal boxes and tins...
I just love this part - they were definitely MFEO (made for each other)!
And some very important Rockler bench cookies and Gorilla Glue of course!
And a sweet little metal stand at the other end for more JUNK!
A little history...Gloria and Rose - past employees or some guys girlfriends???  i know theres a story there!
A bit more JUNK!
Just a little junk/decoration - an old clock case waiting to become a little collage, and theres a business card from THE FRENCH FLEA - cant wait to stop by for a visit next week!
And, last but not least - my first project on my new bench - using a piece that RUSTYDIVA sent to me...stay tuned for the finished project!

OK - not your typical post, but I just had to share the "newest" addition to my basement workspace - a perfectly vintage-y pink workbench.  I got it at a tag sale (just $20 - woo hoo), and with the help of my very understanding husband, we carted it down to the basement and I proceeded to tear my little area to bits to reorganize and make room for my prize!  You definitely have to make a mess to organize things, right???

It had been in a local optician's workroom (in the 60s) and then moved to a basement where it was used by a teenaged "Mr. fix-it" for projects in the 80s.  As soon as I saw it - it was mine (one of those" love at first sight" kind of moments - ha ha - not to mention it was SCREAMING my name),- there it was...six feet of well used, well aged work/creative space, and the fabulous vintage pink was just a bonus (it was just a "little" heavy - so I knew I'd have to sweet talk my hubby on this one - he should be used to that, right?)! more gushing - here are some pics - and you'll see why I LOVE it so much!  You know us junkers (I have to include you guys too...I know I'm not alone - which is one of the reasons I love JMS and our members so much) - we can't pass up GREAT junk - and if it's functional, that definitely helps rationalize buying just "one more thing"!

The last picture is a little something that my favorite rustydiva sent me - my next post will show you what I made (at my new workbench...see, I knew it would come in handy!).

Have a great junking weekend!  Now I've got to start packing for Art & Architecture JUNKMARKET Style in Minneapolis (and that's always a challenge for me - I don't "pack light" well...).

TIME to go!  Kathy

LloydsLandingofSears writes: I love the workbench and your space in your basement. I'm working on getting some space available in our guest cabin, which was our camping cabin before we built our retirment home here on the lake. I love that you've added divided trays to keep organized and that it's pink! ~Mary~ Posted: 5:03 pm on April 21st

Kenda - I've definitely been MIA...helping with an estate sale, getting ready for three shows in a month....and heading to Minnesota TODAY!! :) I'm gonna catch up on members' posts this week - so much great junk to look at!

Anyway - my new workbench is too much fun - ha ha - it should be renamed...because it's not "work"! :)

Janis - see you SOOOON!

Sue - June would be better for me (are you coming to Springfield in two weeks??? - We're in spaces 621 & 634 (new spot, but not far from the old one).

Minda - SO glad you joined JMS - hope to see you this summer - we may be having a girls "market" day in July - will let you know! (Ellen will definitely like the bench...)

Have a great day!!

AtticusFinch...I think I will carve my name on it - great idea - and just make someone else wonder....!!

AtticusFinch writes: Kathy, now you need to carve your name into that pretty pink piece, so when someone else falls in love with it 40 years from now, they will see the name "Kathy" and say "there's a story there, I just know it"...

Sue_Sullivan writes: Nice work area for the money, my friend! And what a lovely pinky color, too. So how is your month looking for a get-together? Give me any dates you're available, otherwise we are looking at June. Met another Columbus area blogger online. I asked her if she might be interested in meeting us. Waiting to hear back from her. Have fun junkin' toots.
