more lilacs! I just cannot get enough of them when they're in season! The prevent the mason jars from leaking water, or scratching the wood of the old radio, I placed them on vintage hankies (which came in my junk swap!)
The old Singer sewing machine was found abadoned at the auction. The little tintype photo of a baby was also found at the auction- face down in a mud puddle! I love the way it looks on display, and I always wonder who the baby is, who they grew up to be.
The old radio was my aunt's and she gave it to me. I have plugged it in a couple times, and it 'hums' but it doesn't pick up any stations. I'd love to get it refurbished someday.
This is a corner in my living room.
The old ladder was found at the auction abandoned. The blankets that are displayed on it were crocheted by my great-grandmother, the small one at the top is my baby blanket. :)
The old school desk was also found at the auction for free. The sock monkeys were included in a large lot of toys that I bought last year.
The couches were free from my aunt when I moved to MD. The blue shelves were bought unfinished from craft stores and then painted.
The French poster was found at the dollar store, and then popped into a black frame I already had.
And the coffee table (I think you can see just part of it) was found at Salvation Army. It was plain wood, and I painted it red.
These are the shelves on my wall where I display family photos.
I found this piece at the auction on the ground. I think it was part of a halltree. I hung it above the archway from my living room to the hall.

As with my kitchen, I have manged to furnish and decorate my living room with lots of bargain finds and free stuff. Just thought I'd share some pictures of my favorite room in my house.

You will not believe this BUT we have the same radio. Yikers!
I love that piece above the door! I have a buyer for the sock monkeys if you wish to sell. I will contact you after I get home from nyc.
