mauve 80's lamps after a good sanding

Just a few things I picked up "dumpster diving"!  The side tables had a mapley finish...I sanded and painted a cream color, then distressed and rubbed a black stain on top.  I also sanded the UGLY ceramic mauve lamps (before picture).  I then painted them white and decoupaged using old dictionary pages!  I found some funky black and tan striped shades to match!  Not too bad for free stuff!

Kacky writes: You could have sprayed the lamps with white, sticks on anything paint and then decoupaged the lamps, but I guess that would have cost money, unless you already had some in the garage! Posted: 9:58 pm on July 20th

i saw some great lamps at the thrift store today. they were brass (gag) but they had such great shapes. i would have loved to buy and make them over, but alas, too broke right now, even for thrift store lamps.

keep up the great posts!! Posted: 5:02 pm on March 17th
