this old drawer

This is the drawer in its original state. My cat Winston decided to get into the picture.
I loved the distressed paint job on the front, so I took the drawer apart so I could save it. I glued on this Christmas ornament that I bought for 90% off last year. Now, I just need to find some old hooks and knobs and it will be a place to hang coats, hats, purses, etc.
Anyone want to donate any old hooks and knobs to my cause?
This is the back piece of the drawer. As soon as I freed it from the rest of the drawer, I saw that it was the perfect size for a little shelf.
So, with some white paint and some sandpaper (to distress it so it wouldnt look so shiny and new), I set to work.
The black brackets were part of another shelf set which I found at a local thrift store for $3. (The shelf they came off was dark wood- very scratched andf tacky-looking).

I found this drawer last year for free. I loved the distressed look of it, so I shoved it into my already packed car to take home. I used it for storage on my screen porch for a while, but I recently decided to clear some stuff out of the house. I couldn't bring myself to throw it away though.

I ended up making 2 projects out of it. Both of them were really easy and took me only a few hours.
