Patina or Dirt???

Before I cleaned the inside, you could barely read this.
I found this great toolbox at a thrift store last week, it was filthy! After 5 pails of black water, I finally love it.
It is an awesome green, so it makes for a great garden vignette. I had to add my old garden tools and a nest to start.
I added old flower frogs.
The old brass hose nozzles fit perfect on the lid.

I love "the old patina", but hate dirt.

Have you heard of the Hantavirus? We know of someone who died from it. You get it from mouse droppings. Everything old and dirty should be washed before you bring it into your home, esp. if you have children. Do not sweep out old sheds or attics without wearing a respirator.

Ok, that's my Public Service Announcement for the day.

HAPPY JUNKIN'

JunkArchitect writes: Now that is a cool tool box and it’s got some great stuff inside it too.
Good thing there’s not a federal agency that monitors dumpster diving and junk because I just broke every rule out there. I spent my lunch hour today digging through a dumpster wearing my dress clothes…and no gloves or boots…and wearing a tie! But I did find some cool stuff. Thanks for the Public Service Announcement.

shabbychick writes: Dana - your hard work definitely paid off with your toolbox - very awesome - and what a cool collection of garden junk!

You made a good point with your PSA - us junkers dig into so much stuff - and not much of it is clean! Thanks for the reminder! I got my tetanus shot updated last year - ya never know...

OnEaglesWings writes: Ohhhhh, I love your box o' garden delights! Aren't we just a little crazy how we love old galvanized metal!

Hopefully, I won't be in contact with mouse droppings....but I'll surely be careful if I see any.

Enjoy your treasures!
