Industrial and kind of cool. It would need the right setting but would pair up nicely with the industrial dining table in the previous post.
The finished piece. I added casters so it can be easily moved around.
The glass shelves are held up by bolts through holes in the side that are tightened with nuts.
The wine bottle section could probably hold about a dozen bottles. But I'm practically a teetotaller so that was the best I could do to dress it up. I didn't think 2 liter Diet Pepsies would have the same effect.
The wine rack is simply pieces of rebar across the inside and resting in the side opening. I started by making notches in the rebar but found it wasn't necessary. The rebar didn't move because of the ridges on it.

This project is meant to go with the dining table in my last post. But this one is even more "out there". Together they would be quite a dynamic duo.
I bought the tank cage (?) at an auction a few years ago for $5 but never felt moved to do anything with it. I always envisioned it as a bench with a seat that opened for storage. But once the metal bug hit I started thinking about it again. And when I got the barrels I knew they had to be together and that a wine cabinet would be a much better use for it.

P.s. Marie, pretty sure it will not fit in your suitcase (how big IS it?). Besides, you'll want to keep one empty! Posted: 3:48 pm on February 2nd

This is a great piece of metal....awesome! For us teetotalers out there, this would make a great "china" cabinet by changing out the rebar for another shelf. Love the patina of it.

It's great how you always envisioned it as a bench (which I would immediately have thought of, too) and then turned on it's end and it's a wine rack! I've learned from this site to always turn things every which way to get inspiration...another great job and I cannot wait to see what you come up with next!

This piece is blowing me away.....I love, love, love it, and would love to mix it with pieces in my own home. Will definitely be on the lookout for something like this.
