January 26th, 2010 in blogJMS member, Crazymomluvsjunk started this last spring and the members who participated had a hoot-and-a-half of a good time. I think it's time to bring it back, but this time with a new twist. Any JMS junker willing, able, and ready to join in the fun should keep on a reading. What is a junk swap? It is the act of trading some of your found objects for some equally as desireable junkables chosen for you by your junk swap partner. We're talking junk in the rough here. Anything you can come up with that is found curbside, in your garage, or perhaps even a dumpster will do. After you have chosen the loot, package it up and send it via Wells Fargo Express to your partner. What''s the twist? This time we're making it a challenge. Upon receipt of your junkmail, it is your duty and obligation (trying to sound official here) to look at your junk, close your eyes, forget about what it was, and think only about what it can become. After you have collected your thoughts, it's time to collect your tools and get creative. Once you have finished your projects (with some or all of the junk you received) it would be fantabulous if you would post your finished project on the site making sure to label it as a junk swap contribution Oooo, la,la.....I can't wait to see what we all come up with. It makes me smile just thinking about it. Here's how you do it. If you decide to participate, enter a "count me in" comment under this post letting me know you're game. After that send an email to me at junkmarketstyle@gmail.com with all your vital statistics.....name, JMS member name, email address, and mailing address will cover you. You will have two weeks from today or until February 9th to sign up. After that I will pair you up with a member and supply you with the necessary information to send out your bundle-o-junk to your swap partner. The rest is up to you! Let the games begin!! Don't forget to show us your finished project!

O-ho the Wells Fargo Wagon is a-comin' down the street,
Oh please let it be for me!
O-ho the Wells Fargo Wagon is a-comin' down the street,
I wish, I wish I knew what it could be!
I got a box of maple sugar on my birthday.
In March I got a gray mackinaw.
And once I got some grapefruit from Tampa.
Montgom'ry Ward sent me a bathtub and a cross-cut saw.
O-ho the Wells Fargo Wagon is a-comin' now
Is it a prepaid surprise or C.O.D.
It could be curtains!
Or dishes!
Or a double boiler!
Or it could be

I got some salmon from Seattle last September.
And I expect a new rockin' chair.
I hope I get my raisins from Fresno.
The D.A.R. have sent a cannon for the courthouse square.
O-ho the Wellth Fargo Wagon ith a-comin' now,
I don't know how I can ever wait to thee.
It could be thumpin' for thumone who is

Overland via Stagecoach
From 1852 to 1918, Wells Fargo rushed customers’ important business by any means - steamship, railroad, and, where the railroads ended, by stagecoach. At first Wells Fargo contracted with independent stageline owners. Then in the great enterprise of building reliable transcontinental transportation, Wells Fargo came to own and operate the largest stagecoach empire in the world.
Since then, Wells Fargo has been forever linked with the six-horse Concord Coach charging across the vast plains and high mountains of the West.

I'm also going to use this idea as a class project in my Entrepreneurship class. Too few of the students are encouraged to think "outside the box" and be creative. Thanks for the idea. Posted: 10:47 am on February 2nd
