embroidered floral silk shade ..
January 21st, 2010 in member junki totally enjoy finding the perfect shade to go with a lamp .. when i can't find one, sometimes i will make one .. i had a great little stick lamp .. and had a shade with a great shape, but it didn't seem to 'say anything' to me .. so i located a piece of vintage embroidered silk that i knew had to recover the shade for this lamp .. i washed the fabric to help give it an aged, puckered appearance .. once i had the shade covered .. i then decided to ruffle the trim .. but i chose to leave the edges raw .. i think it adds to the look .. here is the f inished look and i am so pleased with it ..

So glad you were home still! Love the shade you did a great job! The ruffle really adds as well as the washed silk.

I "spy" a vintage suitcase being used on your worktable! They must be a staple for junkmasters since so many of us on JMS swoon over them (as well as use them) Love the design of yours.
