And the Stockings Were Hung...

We just pulled out our gas fireplace so the stockings lost their traditional spot...I think we started a new tradition with this old iron headboard tucked in behind the tree...
The bigger picture...my 6 year old decorated (and my 2 year old un-decorates) this tree...notice all the ornaments hanging on the ends of the branches so everyone can see them Mom :)
This vintage Santa was in my husbands home growing up.  My mother-in-law gave it to us right after we were married.  Hes had a place of honor winking at us from under the tree every year since...
I just love the art projects my son comes home from school with this time of year...this little guy was much too big for the fridge...so I attached him to my old sled with a clothes pin and added the word PLAY for fun...
A close up of our crazy assortment of ornaments...these little cuties were some I made using vintage Christmas reflectors, glass balls and assorted beads.  I bought a bag full of these reflectors at an antique store...my friends (you know who you are :) ) made so much fun of me that I was determined to make something with them ASAP...he-he

Our Family Room is "Under Construction" but we decided to take a break to decorate for Christmas.  Since I'm not quite ready to hand things on the walls yet, I had to get a little "creative" to get it all gussied up for Christmas...

oldnews writes: So cute! I love it all! I remember one Christmas when we had new carpet installed on Christmas Eve day! We covered the pantry door with butcher paper since we couldn't put up a real tree. I drew the Christmas tree and let my kids decorate it with their artwork! It was So much fun! Sometimes when the need arises, you just have to punt! Marie Posted: 4:50 pm on December 23rd

Merry Christmas!

P.S. I love kids' artwork too (I saved a lot of my daughter's and usually decorate a little tree with her treasures!) Posted: 4:15 pm on December 23rd

Love the red and black color of the stockings. I actually decided to use those colors this year for the wrapping and ribbons ~ I saw these colors in many stores this season.

Merry Christmas!

I love the comment of your little one regarding the ornaments...hung on the branch ends "so everyone can see them mom"...that is adorable! I used to put the wooden and unbreakable ornaments at the bottom too and I never knew where I'd find Thomas the Tank Engine or Barney from day to day! Fun times!

Hope you have a great Christmas! Andrea Posted: 6:31 pm on December 22nd
