Christmas Vacation...tree

Christmas tree branches full of vacation destinations.

Wrapped in pennants from coast to coast.

A vintage glass insulator used as a tree topper is reminiscent of the power poles lining the old back roads that wound from one roadside tourist stop to another.

An old rusty pedal car from Santa...ya think he would have at least brought a new one...cheapo!

Fantastic 1950’s winter graphics. This pennant still has the original price tag pinned to the back…25 cents.
Souvenirs of the past lend a nostalgic and cozy feeling.

Santa Claus is coming to town…soon! Actually our old buddy has been to EVERY town and in his travels picked up a souvenir pennant from a bunch of his favorite places. The nice guy that he is and knowing how good I’ve been this year he decided to leave me a box filled with vintage pennants…a month early! To show my appreciation I decorated the Christmas tree with over 100 pennants from all over the United States...Thanks SC.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

CottageElements writes: Jimbo, well you've done it again. Another stunning post! Love everything about it, especially the insulator on the tree all lit up! And that ol' Santa sure does get around, too, now doesn't he! LOL! Lucky he was generous enough to give you them. And I think the old pedal car is perfect in it's worn-out shape. The rustier the better I always say. Just make sure you watch what you say in it. Never know if Santa (or Gail Marie's mom) is watching . . . hehe. Merry Christmas!

And - I have to agree with you - NONE of us should ever ride ours in front of Gailmarie's mom! Ever. Wow! Wonder what she thought she said??! Marie Posted: 9:26 pm on December 20th

Happy Holidays to you Gailmarie. Your peddle car story sounds traumatic…stay out of peddle cars…forever! I’ll never drive mine in front of your mother.

monakent writes: What a truly original and festive Christmas tree, Jim. The look is divine and would make a super cool front page of a travel magazine.

I want that pedal car in the WORST way. We had one growing up and I remember being in it one day, having fun, going up and down our driveway. All at once, my Mom called me, to come inside (okay, she yelled for me to come upstairs into the bathroom)... when I got there, she proceeded to wash my mouth out with soap (YUCK)!!! To this day, we have no idea why. (I loved that pedal car and having one nowadays, would be a constant reminder to "watch my mouth"!!!).

Wonderful posting, as always. Happy Holidays. gailmarie Posted: 4:18 pm on December 19th

He sure did give you a LOT of cool pennants...I always thought they were much bigger than this? They look awesome on your fabulous tree in your fantastic room...that we never get tired of looking at....great job as usual. I Love everything about it, Georgia Posted: 4:49 pm on December 18th

Have the merriest Christmas!!
