After I read all of your comments about my felt pennant tree skirt. I took Jim's suggestion to use my collection of state/city big letter postcards to decorate the tree! I also used two sets of the big old lights. I love the bright colors! The lights get so hot though, I probably won't be able to plug the tree in very often this season. I really don't want to burn the house down! The lights have a pretty cool feature though. They have a wooden bead next to the bulb that cinches the light down to the branch.

JunkArchitect writes: Your pennant tree skirt looks unbelievable and I’m still trying to get motivated enough to make one for mine. I put so many pennants on my tree that I actually ran out of space for the postcards…and I have tons of them. Those vintage lights get REALLY hot so be careful that the postcards don’t BURST into flames…not good around the holidays…or any other time.

Very retro tree and the funkiest tree skirt I’ve ever seen.
