Xmas tree from a thrift store planter

I bought the bells at a recent estate sale.
On-sale ribbon from Michaels is the perfect tree topper
The red paint wooden base was a flea market find and the silver tray is one of many I collect. I love the color, warmth and patina of old silver.
My biggest challenge is where to put my tree -- on a table, at the fireplace with other junk treasures or as a centerpiece!

I wanted to decorate for Christmas this year using my newfound love of unique junk pieces. I found a hanging planter at our Humane Society Thrift Shop -- I love thrift shops dedicated to a wonderful cause. I took off the chain and was contemplating a use for the planter when I realized it looked just like a Christmas tree and sat perfectly upside down. I love the colors of red and silver, so I set my junk tree on an old red painted board and a silverplate tray. I filled it with garland and pinecones left over from other craft projects and even decorated it with some colorful bells I found an estate sale. It's my first piece of junk Christmas decor. Look out! I'm on a roll.
