old wire, word cards, balls, and crystals

  • I wanted a cool, whimsical display tree for our show without spending money... so I took an old 6 foot Dollar Store tree I've had 4-ever and trimmed all the pine needles down to the nubs, ran lights down the middle in sections, so I could put it together quickly and store it easily, inserted the middle part of the stand in some old grout in a plastic ice cream bucket. then I took crystals and ran up the middle to hide the lights and on the branches.  I used old rusty wire, crystals, and balls to make the topper to hold the old school words ... Got Present.... that is my subliminal message. Ha Ha.  It shows up our ornaments well.

busymelifera writes: LOVE! This is a hoot (I date myself), and worth plagiarizing. I dunno what the big attraction is to those trees (real or not) that are so full that the ornaments can't do their thing and just hang around. THIS is a lot of work, but worth the final result. peace Posted: 8:00 pm on December 14th

Turned out great hope your show is as good!
