This door now graces the end of the hallway into my family room.
Rescued door as found this summer; love the top ledge on it.  This honey got a mighty good cleaning to begin with...
I taped off a pattern and used frosted paint on the glass, then added vinyl letters.
I think the neatest detail is the metal letter drop-slot which still opens.
Im in love with the chippiness of it!

suewhitney writes: I love how graphic this is! You've added just the right amount of embellishment. Not too much, not too little...just right! Well done again.

Janis... With chippy paint you need to wet sand it to knock off the large pieces of paint. Wear a mask because you can be sure there is lead in the paint. After the sanding process give it a couple coats of poly to stop the rest of the paint from falling off. This will also encapsulate the lead paint.

Take care,

This is a stunner...WoW...absolutley beautiful. Now what did you use to stop the paint from continuing to chip and fall off. Why, oh why did I get my husband to take my old door to the dump last summer---crazy me!!
