OK, here is the first floral ala junk and I think this just may be my pick of the litter of all the florals of the  month this year.
Here is the junk. Can anypne guess what these are? Ill give you a clue. You would be more likely to see money in one of these than a floral bouquet. Sorry, I dont have any money to give you for Thanksgiving, so youll have to settle for the flowers. Ha! Oh, and by the way Im trying to pull from everything I already own. These, however do not belong to me. I saw them in the back of Lanis car, fell in love them, so I stole them. Possession is 9/10ths of the law. Are you with me? Thank you for being so giving during this season, Lani.
Whoa, Nellie...im going to back up for a minute. Before I do anything, I choose a color story. This year I borrowed the pillows from my gathering room and transported them to the dining room. I love the rosie pinks, the grayish blues, soft yellows, the sage green, and the ever so yummy chocolate brown. Whew! Glad I got that off my chest.
I just had to show a bit of the coolness factor of these little lovelies. Yes indeed, we have an 11 for November. Sorry, just sitting here amusing myself again.
Slip in a Mimosa glass or a cylindrical vase from the craft store to hold the water and flowers.
I am  always going on, and on, and on about employing your sense of humor when you are decorating. You all know that when I am on the road I do my florals in the bathroom of my hotel room. Hotel management and staff hate me. Well, guess what? I do it at home too. Its become a tradition of sorts. The toilet makes the perfect floral container while I am arranging. Someone asked me what I would do if I only had one bathroom. Well, I guess that could be problematic. Hmm.. theres always the great outdoors.
The top of the tube flips down very nicely creating the only needed embellishment.
Most of the flowers come from the grocery store, some clipped from my yard, and some from a ditch digging excursion. I have no pride! I asked Elizabeth if she wanted to join me. She declined. Any hoo, the flowers ran around $50.00, but I will be able to make about 7 arrangements. Thats pretty darn good in my book!
I liked the first one so much that I made three. Oops...Lani, did I forget to tall you that my sticky fingers lifted more than one of these from your car? My bad!

OK, we already know that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and Halloween is the least of my loves. I don't know who said it, but someone made a comment that went something like this. "If this is what you do your least favorite holiday, I can't wait to see what you do for your favorite. I guess the pressure is on. Thanksgiving at the Whitney household is ususally a small gathering...just the way I like it! I think more intimate gatherings allow for more meaningful interaction. Also, I have to spend less time in the kitchen allowing me more time to junk up the house for the holiday. I usually start with the florals...but as Rusty Diva pointed out...I'm a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl so we'll just see how this all unfolds on the site. Ha!

Did you make this?
After you make it, show it off to other members in the Member Junk area.

Beautiful arrangement and love love love the "stolen" containers!!!!!!! You crack me up with the toilet thing ~ I may have to try that one. Great post!!!!!! Posted: 3:30 pm on November 25th
georgiamoon writes: Wow girl this is gorgeous. I think you are the most talented floral designer I have ever seen. Your techniques are a bit different (toilet) but effective! I really can't imagine why Elizabeth wouldn't go ditch digging with you...it sounds like SO much fun! Nothing like being freezing cold and slopping around in a ditch. Your color scheme is beautiful and you matched your fabric pillows perfectly. Happy Thanksgiving to you all, Georgia Posted: 3:26 pm on November 25th
StrangeCargo writes: Sue, very unique & unusual! These happen to be carriers for bank transactions or any other paperwork, samples, etc. The carrier with its' contents gets placed in a sender chute and then compressed air shoots it to its' destination via a pipe. We use these at our facility to send oil samples to our lab for testing. Pretty neat. Nice job! Posted: 2:37 pm on November 25th
