I used old yellowed music sheets for placemats
I just love my ironstone dishes!
Metal cow tags worked well as wine charms...
An old light fixture filled with flowers from my garden and a candle was a quick fix for a centerpiece.  I added a grate to anchor it on top of a fake moss roll.  Looks real, doesnt it?
I decided on a burlap runner for the tablecloth.  I attached wire to some old doorknobs for place card holders.

Marybeth's post reminded me of a tablescape I did this summer when some visiting friends arrived.  I had just purchased some Independence Ironstone at a vintage shop, but didn't have much else...until I threw some junk together...

shabbychick writes: Andrea - I love your tablescape - such a great collection of unused things turned into a beautiful table setting! The music sheets are so perfect as placemats (they could even be laminated or maybe decoupaged to be reused...). I also love the old light fixture as a bud vase, the doorknobs, etc., etc.... I'm sure your friends had a fabulous time - and had lots of junk to talk about!!

Junk_Sophisticate writes: Wow, Andrea! This post looks like it came straight from a magazine photo shoot! I really love the sheet music placemats(I just picked up a few books myself at a rummage sale), so thank you for the wonderful visual. The old lighting fixture turned candleholder is one of the prettier ones I've seen. And the cow tags as wine charms...well, that's just too stinkin' cute!

Gorgeous post, my friend! You do amazing work.

Your tablescape looks fantastic. I love how you made such good use out of discarded sheet music. What a great and
simple idea. Great way to use your much loved numbers. You
would be so easy to buy gifts for with your love for numbers.
It was so good to see you again a few weeks ago. Let's do
it again next year.

MimiToria writes: Hey Andrea - I love everything that you did to create this wonderful tablescape. You've rescued everything you've used from others throwing it out, so nothing wrong with using sheet music like you did. Now if you were burning it up and not recycling it maybe, but I know you and know that you are a rescuer of junk. Love the cow tags for wine glass charms, love the grass matt, music, ironstone, grate and center piece too. Excellent post!
I just saved some sheet music that was for sale at a barn sale, and it would be happier as placemats than left out in a damp barn to get ruined.

The the old doorknobs and their use as placecards are a very clever idea as well. gailmarie Posted: 7:29 pm on October 20th
