Some white and yellow paint...painted the screen too.
...decoupaged inside and out with copies of correspondence and other ephemera from my grandmother...(the Pearl who, as a very young girl, wrote the note to her mamma...)
Now a box I like..and use....

Did not remember to take a photo before I started this project...but this box was originally a dark brown pine onion box that I have had hanging around forever...it's an odd and awkward size, not quite large enough to hold more than two large onions or a potato or two....and a little too big for garlic heads...so decided to give it a face lift.  Now it's in the bathroom holding guest soaps...
