FANCIFUL GARDEN GATE
October 7th, 2009 in member junkI attatched this iron piece to a post and made it into a gate. By placing a whimsical iron bird to the front whose little feet stick out a bit, I am able to place a wreath on the gate. I used an old rusted spur on top of the post for a gate latch.

I was asked if I did welding--well--not really--but I do use good ol' JB Weld a lot!!I love outdoor spaces and seem to "go wild" with inspiration at junk yards! In this part of Texas we do have some nasty winter weather from time to time, but generally have many days throughout the year to ply our "craft" and to go a junkin'!
I am glad you especially like the spur. I have used them in many ways which none consist of their original intent:-)
The feathers laced throughout the netting did not show up in the photos of the canopy. I intend to get a new camera one of these days, but why spend money on something practical when you can buy a cool piece of junk and drag it home to play with..... Posted: 6:06 pm on October 8th
