A Happy Hostess!
September 22nd, 2008 in member junkSo your're invited to a gathering this fall....you've decided to bring your special cranberry cake with rum sauce. Treat the hostess to one of your special creations. You know the colors she loves.....so hit the nearset estate sale....thrift shop, or your own collections and find a small glass bowl, a fancy tea cup, and a stunning old fashioned plate. Use the gorilla glue and start to layer them. (ie. bowl glued to tea cup, topped off with the beautiful plate. Make sure the first stack is dry before you attempt to place the next piece on top. Get your dessert ready, chill it over night and remove it from your pan carefully. Cut a piece of Wax paper to fit the inside plate rim, place your dessert on it and pour the sauce over or embellish with sugared fall leaves. This way when there are leftovers you can say with a smile..."Keep the cake plate....it's all yours!"
TIP: I made these for a Bridal Shower...using all clear glass pieces...BEAUTIFUL!
A girlfriend of mine uses candle stick holders for the base...that makes for a taller piece.
