Another Crazy Lamp

This is one of the coolest paint bucket I have ever seen.

The bucket still has its original shipping tag dangling from the handle...so I left it on.

I know, it’s crazy, but I like old crusty paint brushes.

I really don’t collect brushes, I just own quite a few...yeah right.

Heres a paint scraper that just happens to match the colors on the bucket. It’s attached to the pull chain.

This is a first for me. I have built something out of junk to hold more junk. I’ve owned this Gold Bond paint bucket for years and was waiting for the right time to assemble one of my lamps. Well the time came when I decided to fabricate a piece to hold my collection of crusty old paint brushes. I don’t know why I like old brushes but I do…weird? The lamp was designed with a “Paint” theme because the bucket held paint and I needed a place for the crusty brush collection. I built the base to resemble an old paint tray and then painted it to match the colors and graphics off the bucket. There is NO reason to have this lamp on casters but I found four at the flea market, so guess what, it’s on casters.

I too, have a thing for Old paint brushes.
I have accumulated Many through the years. Still haven't figured out WHY. But, it's ok. Along with OLD paint brushes, old worn out wisk brooms and wire brushes.
Guess it's the "OLD SCHOOL" Spirits in me....

Keep on Preserving whilst we can.................
And THANK YOU for Sharing your projects/ideas/mind set.

monakent writes: HOLY MOLEY, Jim....This is one COOL lamp!!! LOVE the fact you left the original tag on. It adds so much to the history/fun of the piece. Even better, the brushes are to "DIE FOR"!!!! I am on the look out for old, beat up brushes. If ever you want to get rid of them, I'll be glad to take them off your hands.

The paint can is awesome, with the vibrant colors. The name cracks me up, because I never knew there was a brand of paint with that name. "Gold Bond" to me is foot powder!!!!

suewannabeinkc writes: You've done it again! I am completely impressed by this. And what a great way to display - I mean store - those few odd brushes that aren't a collection! Undoubtedly we all have growing non-collections of odd things as well. One weekend of good junking = instant collection. I think ALL of us undertand that!
Thanks for sharing more of your great work! Your home must be a very interesting place!
