trophy coat rack

What do you do with old trophies once the nostalgia has faded? Why stick them on the top shelf of your closet when you can turn them into a great coat rack! I was inspired to make this project after seeing a coatrack that used old doorknobs.

2poor2payRetail writes: I love this and made a rack for the garage. I took a scrap piece of wood, painted it and personalized it. Then I mounted the trophies sideways as you did with the coat rack. Only I use it for helmets, baseball caps and roller/ice skates. ( I tie the laces together and hang them over the trophy. Now my kids can easily find their sporting equipment and it stays off the floor! Posted: 12:24 pm on November 23rd

fleadiva writes: This is truly a great idea, I've got a bunch of old trophies from dance contests (not mine! like "Arthur Miller Best Ballroom '77") and I'm going to use them in my closet for scarves, purses, necklaces etc. Thanks for the inspiration- it's awesome! Posted: 8:47 am on September 9th
RustyDiva writes: Great idea ~ you hate to throw those away because of the memories and yet there is usually no place for them as we get older. Posted: 10:44 am on September 8th

This IS the coolest idea yet for old trophies. I have about twenty of my old motorcycle trophies from the 1970’s packed away. I might have dig them out and copy your pegboard design. I can’t get over how great this looks.
