license plate star ..
August 29th, 2009 in member junkfirst i dissected a star pattern into points that were large enough to place on a license plate. i traced the pattern on the back of the license plate with a magic marker and then using a pair of tin snips, i cut out each point. i then placed the cut out section on the corner of a table and bent each section to create a 3d effect. i then took an old wood trap door i had, that came from the attic of an old house. i found the center of the board and nailed and glued a riser in the center using a 2" square piece of 2X4. i used this to help create the 3d effect also. i then placed each section of the star onto the board and secured it to the riser and nailed each point down. once all the points were in place, i secured them all together with a cast iron star nail at the center. i then screwed eye hooks in each corner for hanging. i ended up selling this as i unloaded it and wish i had done more.
