I purchase the shutter at a antique store for $2.00 and the Fence was 2 6ft section that was in my neighbors yard that they were not gonna use. I got the idea for the fence rack from the premeire issue of junk market style magasine in 2006,(just made it today) and the fence welcome pieces i saw in a book. Love all the ideas in the magazine I have more to try. and I will post them when completed.

I'm fairly new to junkin so I dont have any wonderful stories as of yet. I was just ramblin around in cyber space when I stumbled cross this spot. I'm from a little spot in western Oklahoma (Panhandle) called Boice City. I come up dirt poor (And still am) so findin stuff has always been a real hoot for me. Our toys were whatever we found to play with. I never throw anathing away because I find other uses or find somebody else who can use it. I look forward to the time when I can put stuff on this spot so yall can see is.

I have so many things that I consider collectables that I could do so much with, just check out the Hoosier (which I got for a steal, seller was upset it wasn't selling for $795 that they let it go for $500, its what you call, right place at the right time.) All the items in there mean alot to me, when my grandparents past away my sister and I were alot younger and we just let everything go with the house, when we go antiquing or collecting now we see so much that our grandparents use to have. We could just kick our own butts, Thanks agian for the comment, they are appreciated. I will be doing alot more, Hope we can talk in the future, take care and keep junking. My husband and daughter (14) are the same as yours, so you're not the only one that is the only lover of junk in a family. : ) My friend, keeps telling me there's hope for them, as her 24 yr. old daughter just became a believer of junk.
By the way did you know that Sue has been a part of 2 book publications besides the magazine you own? They only published the one magazine, which was a great issue, but have two books out. You can find them at most Barnes & Nobles or Borders Book stores in larger towns. You might have to ask for them though. One is called "Decorating Junk Market Style" and the other is "Junk Beautiful". authors are Sue Whitney & Ki Nassauer. These are filled with more great projects, you'll have to try to get a hold of them and at least look at them if you don't want to purchase. You might be able to find them online too. Note that Sue is selling the latest edition on the bottom right of this site, and that is a new release of Spring 2009. An early edition price. Haven't bought yet, but will for sure. Love her books!!!!!!!
Again - welcome!
