Some of the clippings are words of wisdom she saved...some items are going on 75 years....

A beat up old college trunk (from Kmart some 30 yrs ago!) and a journal full of ephemera from a beloved great-aunt---She saved clippings, Valentine cards, stamps, advertising cards, notes from friends.  I recently rediscovered her collection--it had been stored away for decades--finally decided to do something with them before the newspaper articles crumbled to dust.  I painted the trunk black, lifted it up on new feet, and then decoupaged the cards and clippings.  The refurbished trunk now stores a few quilts and vintage linens... and it's fun to see all the paper items she saved because they meant something to her.
