Handpainted rug.
I even added fringe.
Handpainted rug.

Handpainted rug.

Our porch was polished cement and became slippery when wet, so I decided to add a runner. I made up the design and added sand into the paint to add traction. It came out so pretty that people didn't want to step on it.

RustyDiva writes: Beautiful rug!! How did you ever find the patients to paint all the little fringey parts?! I've used corn meal in paint before to texture a wall and I hear sand has the same effect. Wonderful thinking! I love it. Posted: 2:09 pm on July 23rd
