My Bird Bath Creation
June 16th, 2009 in member junkSomeone was giving away this old rusty cast iron birdbath bowl (freecycle). I have been wondering what I could use or do for a base. So I found this old very outdated lamp base at Goodwill for $2.99, I applied bronze paint and wiped off, not sure what the lamp base is made of, but like a stone material, it is heavy just by itself. The small base of the lamp is wood, I painted that with the bronze, then a sealer, glued it to the top of the lamp. I painted the birdbath with a platinum outdoor paint, it brought out the beautiful design of the birdbath. glue it on the wood piece, I then attached the whole thing to a chunk of patio block for more stability, and finally I had my birdbath! It is so heavy, it will fun getting it outside. I pray that it will stay together in the hot weather.. I guess we'll see... lol
