YooHoo!
Bottles are from the late 40s through the early 70s.
They make more of a statement when all grouped together.
Terrific graphics.
Great colors.

Some bottles not only have wonderful graphics but really cool shapes.
The caps are little pieces of art too.
I painted the text and attached an old bottle opener to each side.
TASTIEST OF THEM ALL

Does it surprise ANYONE that a bottle of soda with a potato on it didn’t catch on.

It would be quite a mess if it tipped over.
Bottles with Winter scenes.
If you say so.

YooHoo!

I have amassed this out-of-control collection of vintage Soda Bottles. The whole thing started with three bottles I found at a tag sale. Twenty five years worth of tag sales later I own around 300...crazy. Every bottle has its own unique graphics and I consider each one a little piece of art. I recently built this shelving unit as a way to group the bottles together and turn a portion of my collection into one gigantic art statement. Another flea market find was a bag full of vintage bottle caps. The caps are attached to the front of each shelf and add to the overall graphic intensity. The only place left in my house to display something this large was my son’s bedroom…the kid hardly noticed it.

ela1203 writes: You have a wonderful collection and have it displayed so nicely. I like how intact the pyroglazing? is on the front of the bottles. Very nicely done. My fiance collects old bottles himsself from the 1700 and 1800's so I know how large a collection can be. Recently he put some lights in his cabinet and they make a nice glow coming through the bottles.
Good luck with your collection, great work!!! Posted: 2:15 pm on July 20th

My fav: Zuberfizz Coco Fizz Soda. The glass walls are lined with soda bottles. Retro awesome. I want to live there. http://www.pops66.com/40.0.html Posted: 4:28 pm on June 23rd

How I have longed to meet another pop lover!!

I have about 60 vintage bottles...definitely not as many as you. I have them in my kitchen with my vintage Kitchen Aid mixer I had painted lime green.

I am always on the hunt, but I think I have found what West Texas has to offer. I have many of the same that you have. This posting has gotten my urge to go on the hunt again and I thank you for that. Love your stuff! Posted: 5:34 pm on June 22nd
decor8ndiva writes: Love it! My DH has a collection of these old bottles too, but probably not as many as you have! I'd love to find a display rack like yours, since ours are currently off display. Hmmm, maybe I could make one similar to this until I find an original. Thinking, thinking, thinking... Posted: 12:02 pm on June 22nd

RichManJunkMan writes: This is an amazing display. The case alone looks like it has been in an old general store, or stashed in a barn for 75 years. What a great bottle collection with such variety of form and graphics, yet they all hang together representing an era. That YooHoo bottle alone brings back memories. My father used to make his own version of YooHoo back in the early sixties, but, I don't think that his was "sterilized"! Posted: 9:28 am on June 17th

georgiamoon writes: Jim, that is one CRAZY collection of soda bottles...I especially like the "tatie pop"! It's the tastiest! I had no idea there were so many different kinds of soda bottles. The wall unit you built is fantastic! I am always amazed at how talented you are, and always anticipating what you'll show us next. You did a great job making it look like it was made for those bottles. AND you are a crack up. I'm still laughing. I LOVE IT, Georgia Posted: 8:18 pm on June 15th

Your display turned out GREAT. It just all flows together so perfectly. Love what you did with the bottle caps.

I was not aware soda bottles had "themes" - too funny!!!

Thanks for sharing this with us all. gailmarie Posted: 5:25 pm on June 15th

I love how you're showing us all the more reason to think you are such a cool guy. This bottle collection is GREAT! I love how you enjoy and (respect) the design of the bottles and their labels.

But my very favorite part? "Bottles with Winter scenes." You just kill me.
