A Vintage Junk Christmas

I layered burlap, antique sheet music, and crusty rusty bits and bobs with elegant mercury glass and greenery for a sophisticated look.
Give a Nativity scene more prescence by placing it on an antique mirrored plateau and topping it with a rusty wire cloche.
Add bottle brush trees for a festive and vintage look. Mound small like objects, such as these vintage porcelain insulators in a large silver bowl for more texture and variation--you could do the same with old keys, chandelier prisms, door knobs, etc.
To achieve this look, use a neutral palate--mostly shades of white--but no bright white, mixed with mercury glass, tarnished silver, and natural greenery. Add a little rusty metal for a little contrast.
Mirrored plateaus are extremely versitile and help anchor otherwise dissimlar arrangements. Use them to showcase treasured items, such as this mica snow encrusted Nativity--or elevate even something mundane like an old door knob--once placed atop. Add a cloche--glass or wire for good measure.
