Back To School
September 4th, 2008 in member junkWe have never really shopped for school clothes at the begining of the school year. I try to pick up "nearly new or stylish vintage" things at thrift stores on my regular rounds. I overheard as a friend complimented one of my daughters, she replied: "Yeah, I don't really know where this stuff comes from. It just shows up outside my bedroom door." The black shoes were decoupaged with copies of photos & art images, then I glued some tiny silk flowers I had. The tan shoes were just rubber stamped. The plain black jacked was embroidered around the edges in a blanket stitch. Some felt flowers were added after I cut the shoulder pads out. These were all relatively quick projects. I recently traded an art glass vase for some awesome fabric that looks like a vintage map. I'm planing on stitching up a couple of tote bags!
