Beginning May 1, two of our JMS contributors are starting out on a new venture. An occasional sale is opening in Anoka, MN called "The French Flea" and they will be a part of it. If you're not from Minnesota (ya sure, ya betcha!) and not familiar with occasional sales, they are sales typically only open four to five days a month. They are very exciting and the frenzy that ensues at the beginning of these sales is incredible to say the least. This particular sale is running on a French/European Country theme (oh-la-la!) and will be open every second weekend of every month.

One thing that is different with about sale is that it's not going to be individual booths like a typical antique store. All the different dealers, about ten in all, will be mixing their items together, to have a more cohesive feel. It will be more muted colors and neutrals, and of course black. But all vintage!!

So if you happen to be in the Twin Cities, live near it, or are looking for something to do, come and visit us. It will be tre magnifique!

For one-of-a-kind cottage,vintage antique and repurposed wares. It will be held Friday & Saturday, June 19 & 20 in St. Charles, MN. We will be hosting it on the grounds of my other business the Victorian Lace Inn. We have ordered the big tents and only have a couple of spaces available for vendors. So, if any of you are interested in getting out to beautiful SE MN to be a vendor contact me. All of you are invited to come as a shopper of course!

CottageElements writes: I ended up working at my other job, and was bummed. But then again when I found out how crazy it was was kind of glad! LOL! Like any new store, there will be kinks that need to be worked out. But I think all in all it was a success. Whew! Would love to have a Junk Market get together there sometime. There's a darling courtyard in the back of it where it would be fun to do a little get together. I'll let you know it the details can be worked out and if we can get enough people together. I have an extra room at my house for outside guests!!

I think we learned alot in our first venture, and can improve on things for the future sales too. Like have more smalls. They went super quick, and anything that was cool or unique went within the first couple of hours. We'll need to have back up for the future sales to restock with.
Thanks for all of your wonderful comments and encouragement. It has been a lot of work for everyone involved, but the first day was a success. In this economy one has to wonder how things will go.
