I am expecially fond of the funky old oil cans with the bendable spouts. I have this collection poised by the front door to welcome visitors. They just add such a sense of fun, visitors cant help but smile when they see them.

For some odd reason, I have always been drawn to metal things. Every flea market, tag sale, and whatnot I seem to find the grungiest old metal oil can or chicken feeder/waterer for sale. I bring them home and it's straight to the outdoor washtub for a soaking in water and Krud Kutter. I am always amazed at how beautifully they turn out.

You can get Krud Kutter at most hardware stores. I get mine at Home Depot and Lowe's.

Thanks for asking,

CottageElements writes: Your collection is great! I love old chicken or turkey feeders, watering cans (have about 8), etc. I even have a barn cupola. I've never heard of Krud Kutter before. Could have saved myself a lot of work! Some of them were pretty grundgy when I found them!

These look great!
